WHAT IS e-DÉCOR?

E-Décor is a virtual design option offered by Sandra Hinton Design Studio that allows you to walk away with a custom design for your smaller decorating project without retaining our professional expertise for full-service interior design. It gives you the advantage of implementing your design package at your own pace, and can easily be done regardless of your location. Whether you’re revitalizing an existing space or have a room in your new home you want help with, but you don’t want to hire a design firm’s full services, e-Décor could be the option for you.

We do however want to set the right tone from the start… Even though there is a general understanding that e-design is the more affordable alternative to the traditional way of hiring a designer, we are part of the movement whose goal it is to change the perception of e-design. We want to help our clients understand the value of investing in making their personal spaces truly special. What draws our clients in to working with us, is the assurance that we put our time and effort into crafting spaces that are tailored and unique. 

From experience we know that it is very hard to provide design package with a high-end feel and a specifically tailored look on minimal finances. Although we are always mindful of individual budgets, we are not a “design on a dime” type of studio. If that is what you are looking for, then we are unfortunately not the firm for you.

We pride ourselves in being tastemakers and our mission is to deliver beautiful interiors to clients who have the same high standards and appreciation for quality and craftsmanship as we do. We believe that holding true to our design aesthetic and principals is what sets us apart and the good thing is that it will always be your choice to decide who you partner with to design your home.

This is how it works:

1. Questionnaire
Fill out our e-Décor questionnaire so we can assess the room requirements and estimate a budget
2. Existing conditions
We will then reach out to you and ask you to email us (open email with SHDS address filled out) photos and detailed measurements of the room(s) to be designed as well as photos and measurements of furniture pieces you wish to retain in the new design.
3. What floats your boat?
We want to see your inspiration images and online links to spaces you love, if you have them. You can also invite us to your Pinterest board(s).
4. Phone call
We will most likely request a phone / Skype / FaceTime call in order to hear from you directly, get a better sense of who you are and see the space. This will be limited to 1 hour maximum
5. Payment
We will send you an invoice via your preferred method (we accept PayPal, Venmo, Money Order and checks) and the design process will start once the payment has been made in full.
6. Delivery
Once we have all the information we need, we will get to work and create your tailor-made design package. Please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery and once you receive your custom design guidelines, it is up to you to implement things as you please.

What will your e-Décor Package include?

1. A mood board illustrating the look and feel of your new room including, but not limited to, the choice of furniture, color pallet, materials and accessories.
2. Detailed furniture layout including existing and new items.
3. Elevations showing window treatments and positioning of wall décor if necessary.
4. Shopping list showing all the necessary information for you to make your purchases.
5. One round of revisions after you have received our design suggestions.
